Sometimes communicating with our partners can be difficult. As these are generally the most important relationships we have, healthy communication is crucial. My goal as your counselor is to help both partners develop the skills to navigate and grow these vital relationships.
Parenting can be both the most rewarding and frustrating experience people have in their lives. We all want our children to thrive, but sometimes it feels like we are struggling just to survive. My parenting workshops embrace the challenge of responding to our children’s needs in a relationship-building way that will change the dynamics between you and your child for the long run.
Is your child capable of going into a stranger’s office, sitting down and discussing what’s bothering them? If so, consider yourself very fortunate. Many children cannot jump right into a traditional therapy setting and be comfortable. Play therapy meets the child where she or he is developmentally by recognizing that play is the child’s language and toys are their words.
My approach to counseling is to create a safe space for you to raise awareness around the emotions that so often drive our behaviors. As emotional awareness increases we can choose different responses. Rather than the instantaneous reactions that plague many of us, we will be able to respond intentionally and thoughtfully. As we come to understand the emotional basis of our reactions, and choose to change our response, we can break negative patterns of behavior with our partners, family, children, colleagues, and other people in our lives.
Families are often the most influential and complicated group an individual will ever be a part of. When working with families I strive to understand the issues from all perspectives and build consensus and connection. Together, we will establish relationship building patterns of communication within the family unit.
Typically we schedule a quick introductory 15-20 minute call to see if there's a fit, and from there schedule our initial session. Click here to send me some information to get started :
